Daisy Dick rides for Team GB in Beijing
Good Luck to Daisy Dick of Basildon as she competes in the Beijing Olympics. Daisy will be riding her horse 'Spring Along' in the three-day event, in both the individual and team competition. Adoption of the Basildon Parish Plan
We are pleaased to announce that West Berkshire Council formally adopted the Basildon Parish Plan on 23rd April 2008. This shows their commitment to supporting the plan and opens up further avenues for funding going forward. The final Parish Plan Document will shortly be delivered to every house in the parish but, in the meantime, a copy can be downloaded from here. Posted: 30/5/08
Car Thieves in Upper Basildon
There have been a couple of reports of cars being stolen in Upper Basildon recently. These may just be isolated incidents or there may be thieves specifically targetting the village. In any case, it is worth being vigilant and if you see anything suspicious, report it to the police. The Thames Valley Police non emergency line is 0845 8505505. Posted: 15/5/08
Village Spring Clean
Additional Parish Council meeting to consider latest Applecroft Planning Application .
There will be an additional meeting in order to allow the applicants to present their proposals and to allow an opportunity for residents to review and comment on the plans regarding application 08/00599 for development at Applecroft, Bethesda St.
The meeting will also be published on the Village notice boards in the usual way.
Residents are welcome to attend this meeting.

Annual Parish Assembly on 16th April 2008
You are cordially invited to join your Parish Council on Wednesday 16th April 2008, at the Village Hall, Upper Basildon for the Annual Parish Assembly. Come along to the Village Hall at 7.15pm for a glass of wine, and to hear what your Parish Council has been up to during the past year. All electors of Basildon Parish are entitled to attend the meeting and we look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Wine and nibbles will be served at 7.15 pm for a 7.30 start. Volunteers needed to help run Basildon Summer Show
The 2008 Basildon Summer Show will be on the 6th September. The heart of a good show is the host of volunteers who do things from running the beer tent to setting out tables.
