Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

Basildon Barbarians in League Final
Our local Football team, the Basildon Barbarians have made it to the league final against Goring United. The match will be played at Reading Town FC, Scours Lane, Tilehurst, on Sunday, May 13. Kick off 3pm. It's a local derby so why not go and cheer them on. Entrance for the game is £2.50, which includes a programme. A licensed bar will be open at the ground before, during and after the match.

Shackles Bridge Deck Replacement Update
As you may be aware Church Lane, LB is closed so that the railway bridge can be renewed. The closure was due to be lifted on 5th March, however due to unexpected engineering difficulties the closure will now remain in place until MONDAY 2ND APRIL. The works are being carried out by the Murphy Group on behalf of NetworkRail. Queries should be addressed to the engineer in charge of the works, Gary Miller on 07872 503463. Posted: 18/01/12
