Conquer Your Camcorder
This is a new evening class starting at the Village Hall in November. It is aimed at helping enthusiastic beginners improve their home video techniques, including sound, lighting, editing and transferring to DVD. Basildon 2009 Summer Show
This years summer show will take place on 5th September at the Basildon Village Hall and Recreation Ground. It's a great day out for all the family. Vacancies at Basildon Primary School
There are 3 vacancies coming up at Basildon Primary School in September. One is a paid position as Clerk to the Govenors to provide administrative and organisational support to the governing body. The other 2 are voluntary positions as Community Governors, suitable for anyone with a desire to help improve the local village school. Next Parish Council Meeting Rescheduled to 7th May
The next Parish Council Meeting has been rescheduled for the 7th May. This is to accomodate the return date for the latest planning application at Farriers for 3 houses on the Village Green. All residents and interested parties are welcome to attend this meeting.

Over 50 runners completed the first ever "Basildon Burn" held on Saturday 28th March. You can download the results here. The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped make it such a successful event. Read more....

Annual Parish Assembly - 2nd April
All electors of Basildon Parish are entitled to attend so please come along to hear what's been going on in the Parish during the past year. There will also be reports from the Basildon School and the Basildon Village Hall Recreation Ground Trust. Wine and nibbles will be served before and after the meeting.

Basildon Burn
A new local running event is being organised in aid of charity and needs your support. It is intended to suit all abilities so you can choose to run/walk either 3, 6 or 9Km. Coinciding with the Basildon Spring Show, the run will start from the Village Hall at 12pm. You can just turn up and enter on the day or for more information, Click Here

Meeting to discuss the latest 'Applecroft' application
An additional Parish Council meeting has been arranged to give residents the opportunity to discuss the latest planning application 08/02374/FULD for the 'Applecroft' site on Bethesda Street, Upper Basildon. The application can be viewed on the WBC website here. Other pending planning applications will also be discussed at the meeting.
